The Ralph Holewinski Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1518 Gaylord Michigan cordially invites all veterans and members of our community to join us at 1100am for a brief ceremony at the Veterans Memorial located at West Main and Court Street.Help us to honor all our Veterans and especially those from our County who gave their lives in the defense of our Nation. Remarks will be given by guest speaker Matt Barressi United States Air Force Retired, Iraq War Veteran, and current Senior Vice Commander of VFW Post 1518.

The Ralph Holewinski Post 1518 of Gaylord, Michigan, formerly known as Clyde Wilkes Post, has served as an organization of men and women who have served
overseas in times of war. For over 70 years, the Post has served active men and women of the military as well as discharged veterans and their families
in need. Members of the Post also participate in local programs and charities to help those in need.

VFW History
The Ralph Holewinski Post 1518 of Gaylord, Michigan, formerly known as Clyde Wilkes Post, has served as an organization of men and women who have served
overseas in times of war. For over 70 years, the Post has served active men and women of the military as well as discharged veterans and their families
in need. Members of the Post also participate in local programs and charities to help those in need.
Location
The Ralph Holewinski Post 1518 of Gaylord, Michigan, is located at 408 W. Main Street in Gaylord.
Services
The post provides a variety of services for veterans, not limited to their current membership.
These services include funeral services for any deceased veteran’s family who requests such services is provided by the post’s Honor Guard free of charge.
Members of the post, with local Boy Scout troops, place American flags on veterans’ graves in several cemeteries throughout Otsego County before Memorial Day, remaining in place until after Labor Day each year.
Transportations services also are provided by post members for needy veterans to VA hospitals in Saginaw, Ann Arbor and Detroit in cooperation with vans, which are provided by Otsego County. Post members also visit and support hospitalized veterans and their families.
Membership

Building Committee
The current post is not handicapped-friendly, so a committee has been formed to seek out grants, donations of land or money to build a new Post. Members of that committee are
